The Poppy Waterman Ice Areana is receiving much needed updates. Rink Systems from MN is currently working on the new boards and glass for the rink. After a long week of getting the board skeleton straight and level, Rink Systems this week is installing new board face and top plates. The glass will be completed in July.
New lights have been added to the facility as well. The much needed replacement of the old "dull" with much brighter and energy efficient fixures. Work was performed by Electric One from Portage.
Rink Cleaning is planned for Monday July 27th and Tuesday July 28th. Rink Systems will be back at the end of the month and much needed cleaning needs to be completed prior to their arrival. From 6pm to 9pm both nights, painting, general cleaning, and glass prep will be conducted. Please join us and support Wisconsin Dells Youth Hockey.
Rink is scheduled to open sometime in early August. Keep checking this site for updates.
UPDATE
The rink is almost finished. The board and glass are complete, the ice is in and the line, logo, and circles are finished. Members of the Hockey Association will complete the rink during the next four days to make it ready for the Planet Hockey Camp which starts on Monday. Open skate will start shortly.
